Owalo launches digital hubs, free public Wi-Fi spot in Nyandarua

The government on Friday launched two digital hubs and a free public Wi-Fi spot in Nyandarua County.

ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo unveiled the Jitume Digital Hub at the Nyandarua National Polytechnic in Ol Jorok, while another hub and a public Wi-Fi spot at the Kipipiri Technical and Vocational College.

The digital hubs, which target the youth, are an integral component of President William Ruto’s bottom-up transformation as they seek to empower them through digital jobs.

Leaders present at the event included Nyandarua Governor Moses Kiarie Badilisha, Deputy Governor Mathaara Mwangi, County Director of TVET Charles Nyota, County Commissioner Abdirizak Jaldesa, his deputy Okaka Etyang, Gatimu Ward MCA Dancun Githinji, Paul Ngeche Wambaire (Kipipiri), Isaac Mbae (Githioro) as well as chief executive officers Stanley Kamanguya (ICTA) and John Paul Okwiri (Konza Technopolis).

Others were Nyandarua National Polytechnic Principal Felix Mung’atu accompanied by  Board chairman Joel Sigilai, Kipipiri college’s Alex Maina as well as principals from TVETs within Nyandarua County, and other government officials.
