Kenya Yearbook and Engineers Board of Kenya Set to Forge a Partnership to Boost Engineering Sector

The Kenya Yearbook Editorial Board (KYEB) and the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) have agreed to collaborate in a move aimed at enhancing service delivery to the Kenyan people.
The partnership to be formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding, was solidified during a meeting between KYEB CEO Lilian Kimeto and EBK CEO Eng. Margaret Ogai.
The discussions centered on how the two organizations can leverage their respective strengths to better serve the public.
“KYEB will support EBK’s mission to professionalise Kenya’s engineering sector by amplifying EBK’s initiatives in line with the institutions mandate of disseminating Government information,” said Ms. Kimeto.
“We will collaborate to showcase Kenya’s engineering industry both locally and internationally, highlighting opportunities for graduates and professionals,” Eng. Ogai added.
The partnership comes at a moment, following EBK’s recent accession to the Washington Accord a multilateral agreement among bodies that oversee engineering accreditation. This milestone recognises Kenyan engineering qualifications globally, enabling local engineers to access international job markets without additional retraining.
The move is expected to open doors for thousands of Kenyan engineering graduates, allowing them to participate in global projects with their credentials now recognised by other signatory countries, who are over 25.
KYEB, as the official Government storyteller, remains committed to telling Kenya’s story and highlighting key sectors of the economy to foster an informed society.
